You may not know this about me, but I was raised in a born-again Christian home.  We went to church Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night most of my childhood.  To this day I still have literally half of the Bible memorized.  I don’t say this to preach religion since these days I’m traveling a broader path however with Easter weekend upon us these verses came to mind.  I thought I’d share them with you also popularized by Pete Seeger songwriter of Turn, Turn, Turn.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

course imageThe purpose of this week’s video is to help you think about your business in seasons.  I spoke with Tanya, one of our Hive members, this week and she said November and December were great and then she lost motivation in January and her sales dropped.  It isn’t always time for harvesting.  Sometimes the ground need to be cultivated and seeds planted.  That’s fine too.  Embrace wherever you are.  Prune what needs pruning.  Let go of dead activities, relationships and business tasks that aren’t producing the fruit you’d like and take a risk to plant new seeds.

You have to open up the space in your schedule and in your heart to receive the newness of rebirth in your business.  Don’t let fear of death hold you back from experiencing resurrection.  When I decided to expand my boundaries here and opened The Hive last August, I had to let go of accepting new private coaching clients.  It no longer served my larger vision of helping more people.  Was it scary?  Yes.  Did I do it anyways?  Yes.  What is your larger vision for your business?  What do you need to stop doing?  What do you need to start doing?

THE SECRET IS….you have to say ‘no’ to what you don’t want first to make room for what you want to say ‘yes’ to.  Faith requires taking steps when you don’t know how it will turn out.

YOUR CHALLENGE THIS WEEK IS…take a small step of faith and kill what isn’t working.  Stop doing it.  Let it die.  Prune your business and make space for new growth.  I promise it will come!

Just listen and reflect.  Turn.  Turn. Turn.  Is it time to plant? Time to weed? Time to harvest?
