Obliterate Clutter in Your Home Office TODAY- Here’s How in 3 Simple Steps…
I’m looking into my crystal ball and I see piles. Piles of paper, receipts, to-do items and miscellaneous ‘don’t throw out but don’t know what to do with’ stuff. Notes from past conferences and webinars you plan to reread and implement are calling your name.
Am I right? Am I a psychic?
I only had to look at my own office to make that list and if you’re like me you are busy and motivated and the piles somehow just appear. So here is a simple 3 step process you can use (and I just did) to obliterate clutter and create a more productive home office environment.
- Recognize the problem- You have to step out of complacency and realize that the clutter is really an energy drain. It is causing you to be less productive than you could be and NOW is the time to take action.
- Gather up everything that isn’t organized (and needs to be) and move it out of the office to be sorted- This step should take no more than 30 minutes. Don’t over-think it. Just grab some laundry baskets, boxes or bags, throw it all in and get it out!
- Commit to dealing with it THIS WEEK– Get 2 garbage bags, throw out and give away, and have one open space where you can sort what you’re going to keep. Keep a blank sheet of paper to write down any to-do items you come across and toss the papers that are related to it.
